Who is responsible

What we collect

This site has no user accounts, no order form and no database. We only hold what you send us yourself: • Your email address, if you join the list that announces new departures. • Your message and number, if you write to us on WhatsApp. • Your message and address, if you write to us by email. • Whatever you enter yourself if you book a call. We use no analytics, no advertising trackers and no embedded social media.

Why, and on what legal basis

• Departure announcements: to tell you when a trip opens. Legal basis: your consent, Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. You may withdraw it at any time. • Replying to you and preparing a trip: legal basis, steps taken at your request prior to entering a contract, Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. We use your data for nothing else, and we neither sell nor trade it.

Who else sees your data

We deliberately rely on very few providers: • Mailchimp (Intuit Inc., United States) hosts the announcement list and sends the emails. • Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd. if you choose to write to us on WhatsApp. • Google Ireland Ltd. if you book a call through the online calendar. • OVH SAS (France) hosts the website. Each acts as a processor or joint controller as the case may be, under its own privacy terms.

Transfers outside the European Union

Mailchimp is a US company, so your email address is transferred to the United States. That transfer relies on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses and on the provider's certification under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. If that transfer concerns you, don't join the list — write to us directly instead and we will reply without involving Mailchimp.

How long we keep it

• Announcement list: until you unsubscribe. Every email carries an unsubscribe link. • Email and WhatsApp exchanges: three years after our last contact, then deleted. • Records relating to a trip that actually took place: kept for the statutory accounting periods.

Cookies and local storage

This site sets no cookies. It stores one thing in your browser's local storage: the language you chose, French or English, so it doesn't have to ask again. That stays on your device, is never sent to us, and disappears if you clear your browser data. That is why there is no consent banner here: there is nothing to consent to.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict, object to and port your data, and to withdraw consent at any time. Write to GDPR[at]monsieur-bonsai.fr. We reply within one month. For the announcement list, the unsubscribe link in every email takes effect immediately.
